Fortnite has taken the video gaming world by storm within the past year. It is easily the number 1 played video game in the world and is setting the stage for the emergence of Esports professional gaming. For causal players like myself it is a fun way to waste time and not think about the 10 page paper due in two days that should most likely be worked on. The game is played like a scene out of the movie Hunger Games, except there is a lot more competition. In the game you only start out with an ax and have to scavenge for materials and weapons to have a chance at building your way to victory. If you play solos it is you verses 100 people, last man standing wins. This new gaming format is referred to as Battle Royal and has been wildly popular attracting the attention of gaming giants such as the creators of Call of Duty. If you do not have the want to go out and face 99 other determined players by yourself, you can play duos with a friend or squad up with 3 others in the squad game mode. Personally for myself, squad game mode is my favorite, it relaxes some of the stress of being solo. So if you are looking for one of the greatest procrastination tools out there, Fortnite might be for you.
